This painting is part of a series that explores inner space, representing the empty spaces within us and our mental health. It reflects how we often reveal only select parts of ourselves, keeping our most vulnerable aspects hidden. At the same time, it acknowledges the strength found in detaching from parts of ourselves that are no longer needed. The freedom that comes with this detachment and acceptance leads to the emergence of inner space—stillness and a quiet peace within.
This painting represents a feeling that I believe many people can relate to, one that I personally experience—the internal battle with depression, fear, anxiety, self-doubt, and more. It reflects the frustration of grappling with your own thoughts and emotions, attempting to keep them contained and manage them on your own.
