Collection: Pauline Kirton

Pauline Kirton is a contemporary artist living in the Kent countryside, surrounded by landscapes that inspire much of her work. After more than twenty years in the Cotswolds, she returned to the South East, where the coastline of Kent and Sussex now features prominently in her artistic practice.
Painting and drawing have always been central to Pauline’s life, and over the years her creative voice has grown into an authentic reflection of her love for nature and rural life. She is particularly inspired by the gentle beauty of the English landscape, the ever-changing sea, and the unique personality of animals, which she sometimes explores through pet portraits.
Working in acrylics, pencil, or mixed media, Pauline’s work maintains a consistent thread - a thoughtful connection to the natural world and a desire to capture its quiet strength and serenity. She welcomes commissions, especially those that invite collaboration and spark new creative directions.

Artist Statement
My work is inspired by the quiet beauty of the countryside and coastline, particularly the gentle landscapes of Kent and the South East. From the orchards and meadows of the Weald to the coastal light of Whitstable, Deal and Rye, I am continually drawn to the calm rhythm of nature and the sense of peace it brings.
I enjoy exploring different materials and techniques - from acrylics and pencil to mixed media - allowing each piece to evolve naturally from its subject. My approach is intuitive and reflective, shaped by an enduring fascination with the light, textures, and colours of the natural world. Whether I’m capturing the vastness of the sea or the character of an animal, I aim to create art that offers stillness, contemplation, and connection.
Above all, I seek to make work that brings a sense of calm and quiet reflection - something I find daily in the rural and coastal surroundings that continue to inspire me.
