Artist Statement
For David Miles, painting is both a passion and a means of exploring the natural world around him. He is captivated by the interplay of light, water, and land in the marshes and estuaries of Kent, where history and nature converge. His oil paintings celebrate the textures, colours, and rhythms of the landscape, from the gentle sway of tidal creeks to the sturdy elegance of Spritsail Barges.
David’s work reflects a lifelong connection to the north Kent countryside, where each scene offers a moment of reflection and a story waiting to be told on canvas.
